This page is great for teachers because other teachers have created blogs that help with ideas you may not have on your own. It can help get creative with lesson plans as well as how your classroom looks.
The Teaching Palette
Under the 'Blogs' tab they have a breakdown of different areas to look into such as: classroom management, cool and creative, and music and art. I specifically like the classroom management section because as teachers classroom management is one of the most important factors to have. They talk about different ways to organize the classroom and different behaviors. The ideas given aren't plain but creative and definitely can help if you don't have a very creative mind.
Hayley, New York
On this blog I like how on top they explain that they created the blog after looking at others and wanted to create their own. Also on the right side they break down the website into different categories such as grade levels. I like how they give examples of the students artwork and then explain how they were done and how learning is done throughout the process. Also on the right hand side they have included links to other peoples blog which is helpful because it isn't just one blog I am looking at but can be more than one.
Mrs. Fritz- Art Matters
I chose one specific lesson from her blog that I found very interesting. The scrapbook she made with a cereal box was very clever. You can use it for many different things. I chose this because I would do this with my class and have them use it as their class journal. So not only can they be creative and make their own cover but it can be used throughout the year.
The Art of Education
This blog has a section just of lesson plans which I found very helpful. She breaks it down into grades so it makes it easily accessible. Within each lesson plan it shows how to complete each activity. Also she lists what subject area it works with. So if I am doing a science activity with the children I could use the 'Fall Leaves Lesson' because they would learn about nature. It could also be used for English Language arts as well because the students can write about what they have drawn.
Online Art Games
This blog contains a bunch of different websites that include art games. These activities online can create a fun learning experience for students. It is interactive which gives them a different atmosphere; rather than sitting at their desk they can be on the computer as well. Since they are online activities the students can learn by doing them at home.
